Properly compacted soil matters!
There are way too many homeowners in Utah dealing with unnecessary settling around their new home. Even if your finished grade is just dirt, settling can cause problems with controlling water around your foundation and in your yard (sometimes even flooding into your basement).

- Why it's important
- How to check it (even as a homeowner or general contractor with a $30 probe from HomeDepot)
- How footings can be designed for soils that won't compact well
